Philadelphia Eagles: My preseason Super Bowl pick has proven to be a solid choice early on in the season. The Eagles have started 3-0, spearheaded by early MVP candidate Jalen Hurts. After a scrap with the Lions in Week 1, the Eagles have won convincingly the last two weeks against the Vikings and their division rival the Commanders, allowing single digit points in each bout. This defense is here to stay, with 12 sacks and 4 INT's through three games. The WR duo of newly acquired AJ Brown and last year's first round pick, Devonta Smith, has been dominant, both averaging nearly 100 yards a game so far. With the accuracy that Hurts has shown alongside his elite running (20th in the NFL, one slot higher than Joe Mixon), they will be a force to be reckoned with coming into a Week 4 matchup with the 2-1 Jaguars.
Miami Dolphins: Hard not to rank them number one after their battle with the early Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills. With wins over the Patriots, Bills and Ravens, the Dolphins are looking like the team to beat in the AFC. Miami has 925 passing yards, with only 192 rushing yards, a stat that would have been considered surprising by most prior to the season as new head coach, Mike McDaniel, comes from a run-heavy offense in San Francisco. Tua has seemed to silent the haters, at least for now. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are each averaging around 10 targets, 100 yards and a TD per game. If that continues, the Dolphins won't be falling down this list.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen and the Bills came out opening night of the season and put everyone on notice that they were not to be messed with this year. The dominant performance, not just by Allen, but the defense as well, made everyone throw Buffalo to the top of their Super Bowl favorites list. That's what makes the loss to the Dolphins so shocking. The AFC East will be hard fought this year, and the Patriots likely won't be one of the teams involved for the first time in what feels like forever. With a staggering amount of injuries, especially to the defense last week, will have many claiming the loss to Miami was a fluke. Only time (and another matchup in Week 15) will tell.
